Val Gibbs was the 2016 Board Chair and a continued supporter of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GHWCC). In her time as chair , she helped take the GHWCC to new heights including 1 ,000 business members strong and setting a new record for 1 ,000 attendees at the Annual Women’s Conference.
In an interview with Gibbs , she said “the reason I got involved and what I really reaped from the chamber was
long term commitments and relationships with a variety of women from a variety of backgrounds and a variety of industries.”
Being a part of the GHWCC allowed Gibbs to see all the ways “that women support one another” when members “need advice on what [they] should do in [their] own businesses or personal life or just direction and support.”
These relationships enriched Gibbs’ year as Chair and she said “the camaraderie…made it worth it for me.”
